Jackson is a Field Service Representative with over 15 years of experience working in and around Vermont’s historic structures, downtowns, and village centers. Growing up in Northfield, Vermont, he went away for college, receiving a bachelor of fine arts degree in Film & Photography from Ithaca College. During his college summers he worked for a restoration carpentry company and fell in love with the writings and illustrations of Eric Sloane.

With a desire to dig deeper, he pursued a master’s degree in historic preservation from the University of Vermont, graduating in 2007. After several years working in the non-profit field, he started his own window conservation and restoration company which he ran successfully for nearly a decade.

Volunteering is an important part of Jackson’s life and he has served on a variety of boards and commissions, including the Braintree Board of Listers, Braintree Planning Commission and the Braintree Historical Society, where he is president of the board.

Jackson, his wife Katja, and their three children, live on a small farm in Braintree where they raise goats and pigs and make draft horse powered maple syrup. When he’s not working, farming or busy with his family, he’s exploring Vermont’s class 4 back roads on his bike.
