Yellow Barn Cheese Destination, Hardwick

Town of Hardwick will receive $80,000 to revitalize the iconic Yellow Barn at the gateway to the community and create a retail outlet for Cabot Creamery and visitor destination showcasing the region’s cheesemakers. The adaptive reuse of the historic barn is part of a larger undertaking to build a new cheesemaking facility for Jasper Hill. According to Jon Ramsay, Executive Director of the Center for an Agricultural Economy,

“The existing Yellow Barn is an iconic landmark for the community. The reuse and revitalization of that space and its important historical ties to dairy farmers are very important for our region. Not only does the project support the creation of new jobs but it works to keep our farmland active and in productive use.”

NBRC Grant Award: $80,000
