Arcadia Restorations LLC specializes in the restoration and reproduction of vernacular Vermont buildings, including barns, covered bridges, churches, and historic timber frames more generally. The company also accepts commissions for reproduction historic doors, wooden window sashes, millwork, architectural woodwork, and historic interiors. Additionally, Arcadia Restorations is available for in-depth historic preservation consulting, condition assessments, research, and documentation, including submissions to the National Register of Historic Places.

We repair and restore historic timber frame buildings, as well as structural stonework. We jack and move existing buildings as needed and do complete res- torations of barns: dismantling, repairing and rebuilding. We also specialize in the restoration and rehabilitation of 18th and 19th century 4 post barn frame looms.

Jan Lewandoski is the owner of Restoration and Traditional Building, a company specializing in heavy timber repair and restoration of barns churches, and wooden bridges. They also reproduce architectural finish work for these structures. Jan and his crew have been doing this work for over 30 years, mostly in Vermont, bu also nationwide and in Canada. Recently he spent 5 years re-erecting a Chinese house, Yin You Tang, for the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA.

VTHT specializes in all aspects of timber frame restoration and preservation with a focus on timber trusses, specifically covered bridges and truss roof buildings such as churches and meeting houses. We have worked on projects as diverse as the restoration of the roof system of Notre Dame, windmills in Estonia, and some of the largest wooden clear span structures in the world. However, we delight most in the preservation of vernacular timber frame structures. We have a deep breadth of experience enacting traditional repairs and working to the standards of the Sec. of the Interior. We plan and work holistically, and are skilled in jacking and moving buildings, steeple repair, hand hewing, millwrighting, and new timber framing.
