Congratulations! Based on the answers to your questions on the Eligibility Checklist, you are eligible to apply for the Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grant. The application is below.

  • Describe the historic resource and its significance at the National, State, Tribal, or local level. (2 - 3 sentences) Is the property listed on the National Register or considered contributing in a National Register District?
  • Briefly discuss how the project will preserve the history of the rural community for future generations. (3-5 sentences)
  • Describe how the project will bring new or increased economic development activity to your community. If the services you provide already exists, describe why the funds are needed to protect and secure your project as an economic driver for the future. (10-12 sentences)
  • Please provide a brief description of the restoration or preservation work that will be done on the building. (4-8 sentences)
  • Please tell us the name of the legal entity that owns the building.
  • Please tell us about your working group. How long have you been meeting? Who are the key players/members? What accomplishments have your achieved to date? What additional technical assistance do you need at this time?
  • Please provide a timeline for completing the work. Please note, that for the purpose of this funding, no work that has already been completed will be considered. The work you are outlining must be work that will be started after the notice of funding.
  • Please enter a number less than or equal to 100000.
  • Tell us the total amount needed to complete your project, the amount you are requesting in grant funds and the amount available in other resources. For example: Roof = $150,000 Grant Request = $75,000 Other Resources = $25,000 state grant, $50,000 private funds.
  • Have any engineering or architectural plans been developed to date? If so, please provide digital PDF copies in the file upload box below. If not, please tell us if your project requires engineering/architectural services.
  • Allowed file types are pdf, jpg, png, jpeg, gif. File size limit is 150 MB. If you attempt to submit something other than this, your application will be rejected.

    • Please provide no more than five digital photos: one picture of the property; one of the property with the streetscape; and three photos of the work that needs to be completed. Note: there is a 4 MB file size limit per image and you may submit no more than 5 files. Acceptable file types are: pdf, jpg, jpeg, gif, png, doc, docx, tif, tiff. Too many files, too large file sizes and unacceptable file types will cause your application to be rejected.

      • If your property is not yet listed on the National Register but has been deemed eligible by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, you must upload your Letter of Eligibility here. For more information about this or to obtain an official letter, please contact Devin Colman
