Bixby Memorial Free Library, Vergennes
Bixby Library is widely admired as one of the most iconic and storied buildings in Vermont for its Neo-Classical Revival style, a stunning central rotunda with an immense stained-glass Tiffany-style dome, and has operated without interruption since its opening in 1912. The library building was specially sited to give the public a sentinel spot overlooking the Otter Creek Falls below and across Lake Champlain to the Adirondacks. A grant from 1772 will help the group repair the porch rails.
1772 Grant Funds Awarded: $5,000
