Mr. Twilight, a Vermonter of African American descent, became headmaster of the Orleans County Grammar School in 1829.  The Twilight House was built c.1830 as Twilight’s family home and as a  dormitory for students. It  now houses staff offices, a visitor center, an archival research center, a tour introduction parlor and Twilight exhibit. Funds from 1772 will help with exterior repairs and painting.
