Addison Town Hall, Addison

Recent changes to the school district in the tiny community of Addison means the town lost ownership of the central school and no longer had a place to meet.  “The building was built in 1872 to provide town meeting space and schoolroom. The historic placement next to the 1816 church on Route 22A is symbolic of church and government,” says John Spencer of the Addison Town Hall Project. “It was the center of activity in years past and longs to come back alive.” A $75,000 grant for foundation repairs will send the community on their way to encouraging a more participatory civic life, a more active cultural life, and a more vibrant economy in the center of town.
